We couldn’t find this place until we called the restaurant and were told that this place is a part of Feast Artisan Dumpling restaurant. The restaurant is beautiful, trendy and has a nice, relaxing vibe.
The Poke bowls are a part of the Artisan Dumpling menu, so you can also order other things on the menu. I ended up getting Big Frog bowl with purple rice, which is their vegan bowl. You can also make your own bowls. We ordered at the restaurant for a takeout and the food arrived pretty quickly. While the poke bowl wasn’t exactly traditional, but it was delicious and so refreshing! The portion size is not too big either. I would highly recommend dinning in here.
I've tried quite a few places in Madison, if not all the poke places and this one is the closest to flavors in Hawaii. In late 2021, we went to Hawaii and ate poke often. Coming back to Madison, we wanted the authentic flavors, which is usually a light sweet soy. Poke poke is the only place that has the correct flavors that we've been missing from Hawaii. Their fishes are also fresh and delicious. Definitely try the classic Hawaii, it's my favorite.
Scrumptious! All whole, fresh food! I loved being able to build my own bowl! I was particularly glad to see a brown rice/spinach base option, several sauces to choose from, lots of veggies, and plenty of cooked protein options. They even allowed me to sample a couple sauces. It was so good, I had it twice in one day. Staff were all very friendly and helpful.
Some of the best poke my wife and I have had in Madison. Large portions, free add-ons of fruits, veggies, and nuts, reasonable prices; it's hands down are go-to place for poke, and even just sushi-style fish in general. The interior ambience is a bit drab, but still pleasant and not bad, just dull.
This is my second time ordering. I had regular poke before and thought it was not enough amount for me, so I chose 'Large' poke ($15.99) this time.
I wanted to choose Large Tofu but it was cheaper than original "Large" poke which made me think it might have smaller amount, so I chose Large one with Purple Rice, Salmon, White Tuna, Avocado, Sprouts, Onion, Seaweed with Spicy Mayo Sauce. I asked for extra sauce, so they put in one more.
First, delivery person was woman and very polite. There was no spill and chopsticks, a spoon and a soy sauce were in the bag.
Rice was too hard and stiff, maybe not made fresh? Felt like it was frozen originally, maybe because many people don't know about purple rice and don't actually order it much. Wasn't chewy and was too stiff that mixing it with sauce and other ingredients was hard.
Rice and presentation of food were a bit of disappointment. I checked the pictures from other people who ordered from here, and it seems like poke is served without ingredients being mixed but mine arrived mixed. I wonder why. Is it because ingredients were not fresh? Also I wanted avocado to be cut into small pieces like the ones in other pictures.
I had bad experience with first order regarding the delivery, but owner contacted me apologized with explanation of the incident and gave me a good feedback with a refund. They have really good customer service, so I decided to order again. I want to order more often from now on, but maybe I will try white rice next time.
In brief,
Service: professional and kind.
Delivery: fast and good, ($4 + tip)
Purple Rice: frozen? Eat white rice.
Presentation: ingredients were mixed, why?
Taste: good.
+ Further Comment.
I saw the pictures from your instagram, but the pictures show diced avocados and 'un mixed ingredients. I wonder why mine was the only one with mixed ingredients and sliced avocado unlike the ones in your official pictures. In order to follow the consistency and to prevent customers from misunderstanding, I think you should hand out food without mixing unless customers ask you to, rather than them putting note everytime not to mix the ingredients.
Plus 3rd order of delivery took 2 hours unlike 45 minutes addressed by the website.
Also they changed the option - only allow 1 topping to be added for any type of poke (it was fine to add numerous toppings in the beginning with extra dollars for avocado etc) on grubhub, so maybe consider again of delivery from there. Maybe people should just go to the actual restaurant. I can't be bothered to deliver anymore since only '1' topping with 2 protein for a Poke around $15 including tip is just too expensive. So I excluded another star.
